: From my experience, it seems that Nolvadex, while able to prevent water
: retention during a heavy steroid cycle, seems to slow down or reduce
: results in muscle growth. Now, there are other anti-armoatases around. In
: particular, I am talking about proviron. Although proviron has never been
: an androgen that is known for causing dramatic or indeed any increases in
: strength and/or muscle mass, it has been used successfully, or so I've
: heard as a water retention preventer. Since it is an androgen, I would
: think that it may contribute to muscle growth instead of reduce it like
: nolvadex, but another line of argument is that as an androgen, it would
: compete for or down-regulate androgen receptors, thus rendering the other
: steroids less effective, while not causing much in terms of muscle growth
: itself. Does anyone have an opinion on this? I have no problem causing
: muscle growth, and do not mind holding water while doing it, but right
: now, the bloat is going out of control.

Few months ago I tried a short cycle of oxymetholone (Anadrol) along with Proviron (3 pills a day). Although I had no problems with aromatization (no sore nipples, etc), I got a huge water retention with edema in the feet. So, in this respect, Proviron was useless as water retention preventer.
