: Since this information is readily available and can potentially 'save lives', I am posting the following information about the most popularly abused (ie: by non-diabetics) insulin preparation, Humulin-R:
: > Rapid Acting Insulin Preparation
: > Insulin Injection (Regular, Crystalline Zinc)
: > Humulin-R (Lilly)
: > Source: Human
: > Concentation (units/ml): 100
: > Onset of action: 1/2-1 ...-
: > Maximum Effect: 2-4 ......- (Hours after subcutaneous administration)
: > Duration of Action: 6-8 ..-
: Similar information for other insulin preparations is/are easily accessable (PDR, DE, etc)
: Ok, so as we can see, maximum effect may on average be 'over' by four hours, it's still in there (so to speak), so bear this in mind if you wish to do multiple doses (per day)...
Sorry, simple typing error - the last sentence should be, "WHILE maximum effect may on average be 'over' by four hours, it's still in there..."
I would also like to hear the reasoning behind the "5'7" Insulin dosing scheme, as it was posted, wrt being administered w/o any other medication, since this is the manner in which it was originally portrayed (ie: prove it is "valid" and "safe" and I will apologize for my comments)
