Thanks APF, that is much more informative.

Your are right to feel that your first impulse is to beat on people giving uninformed info.

Unfortunately, we need to take greater care answering these, as we have people like John out there, hell bent on taking this stuff.

I actually can't understand why anyone thinking about taking possible life threatening drug would have to ask such basic questions (John, stick with something like Deca man.)

: : APF, I think the reason people are doing this is the insulin is a very available drug and personally I know many bodybuilders who have used or are using it.

: : Yes, insulin use is very dangerous and the use of it should definatly be discouraged, but as you can see that is not going to stop people if they think they are going to get gains off it.

: : This is an anabolic bulletin board where people come to find out about the usage of controlled substances.

: : Just saying, do not do it, is like the "Just say no" drug campaign, it does not work.

: : Like the guy above, if you have seen people doing it and they look OK they don't believe the people crying out that it's bad. How many people do you know including MD's, that say all AS will give you cancer and make your old fella shrink)

: : You sound very knowledgeable in this field so maybe a more constructive and realistic messages about the usage and dangers would go along way.

: I am sorry if I sounded somewhat conservative in my criticism of the original reply; I realize this is hardly the place to moralize. However, I do feel I have the right to be very concerned when someone requests advice and is given what I believe to be unsound. I am sure that while most people in these circles will debate as to whether or not "should" use Insulin, no one will debate that if one were to, one should do so in the safest, most informed manner. As well (or, rather, inline with this), if one were to give advice as to how to use Insulin (or any potentially dangerous compound, such as DNP), this too should be based on sound experience, logic and reasoning. Unfortunately, this is not the case - while AS are fairly benign, and there are little "real" consequences for bad advice, Insulin is not so simple; when I see someone saying that Humulin-R is completely out of your system in four hours, I want to beat someone. A month or two ago I submitted a table listing easily-garnered information in reference to onset time, time of maximum effect, and duration of action of some Insulin types (it was in response to a question by, "wrestler," I believe; if it's not accessable via the search engine I will repost it no problem).

: Although I do have a fair amount of practical/applied knowledge about the subject, I won't feel qualified to really give concrete advice until I know what absolutely works best for me (which is why I stay relatively quiet except when saying someone can be potentially hurt by bad advice). However, the information is right there from the people who in my mind exposed [non-diabetic] Insulin use to the general public.
