: MAny people use things like primobolan or oxandrin
: at the end of their cycles thinking it will give them
: time for their natural test levels to get back to
: normal. However, Micheal Mooney has recently published
: some information indicates that this may not be true.
: The atricle showed data that revealed that only ten milligrams
: of oxandrin reduces test production by 60%. Parabolan, Halotestin, and
: DHT all substantially decrease test production. Deca appears to
: down-regualte the natural mechanism slightly more than testosterne
: itself, and parabolan causes about three times down regulation as
: testosterone. The truth is that any steroid will effect the hypothalmic
: sensing mechanism and down regulate test production. The article
: in the new MM2K goes in to greater detail. This point is that
: people need to rethink how they let their test levels get to
: normal, how people taper at the end of a cycle, and what they do in
: their "off" peroid. (Like many people often say to use primobolan
: when using HCG, but this seems to be counter productive.) The atricle
: says that there are androgen receptors in the hypothalmus, and if androgens
: bind to the hypothalamic androgen receptors they'll cause the
: hypothalamusto react and decrease natural test production. My question
: is --- if proviron is a synthetic androgen will it do the same thing
: as mentioned above? I know in the "gains keeper formula" it suggests the use of
: this compound. I would like to know what you guys think and what this article
: means to use serious bodybuilders.

Proviron (mesterolone) has been shown to exhibit no inhibitory effects
on the HPTA in doses as high as 100 mg. a day (oral). Even though it is a strong
androgen it (or one of its metabolites)appears to be a strong anti-aromatase as well which accounts for this
lack of inhibition.
