I am curious whether my birth control pills will cause an adverse reaction. My birth control pills consist of estrogen and progestin. Will the birth control pills still be effective and will they decrease my muscle gains? ||205.188.198.163||reg|| Z||000001||F1hybrid||12-04-2000||09:01 PM||phatboy@columbus.rr.com||Use another form of birth control while on the AAS cycle. If you get pregnant while on a cycle, its bad news for the fetus. Also remember, even if you are off the pill but still do not have a cycle because of the AAS, you may still be ovulating. Be careful.

(*not to prevent conception but to regulate periods) will it mess with the cycle? Or if I go off the BC, and back on just prior to the end of the cycle could that possibly counteract any sides? Would it depend on what kind of BC your on? I'm goign to go wander through the search and see what I find but I thought this might be an interesting thread to broach again....I seem to recall MS had some insights into this...

Only if and when they compete do they take it off because some feel it makes them hold water. But as to the effects it has on a cycle, I've really seen no difference.

Of course this is a topic that has very little if any documentation, and I've not seen any experiments - other than in the real world. But then we all know there are 100's of uncontrolled variables.....

Because you have to use other forms of contraception to be sure you don't endanger a fetus, I don't see a reason to continue the pill, why add the estrogen?. No science here, just my two cents.

Since its never been studied, and never will in this country or any other for that matter, you ladies are the lab rats. Let us know what happens.

Just be very careful about pregnancy while on and for at least 2-3 months after a cycle. Remember the half-life of some of these drugs (test esters and deca) are long enough to keep androgen levels elevated (above normal) in the blood for up to 8 weeks. While they may not be high enough to maintain your muscle mass, they may be high enough to masculinize a developing female fetus.

1) Estrogen does not hinder muscle gains to any appreciable degree in cattle. This comes from the millions of cattle that are given drugs like Fina to add LBM prior to slaughter.

2) We Know that women CAN get pregnant even when on a variety of AAS. This comes mainly from studies on women suffering breast cancer, osteoporosis and more recently, AIDS.

3) We know that AAS can cause develpmental probs in the fetus of women that get pregnant

4) We know that Estrogen inhibits female patterned fat-loss

5) We know that progesterone can be anabolic, but also can lead to water retention and fat gain.

If you put this all together you come up with F1's conclusion. If you decide to use AAS, you should consider methods of birth control other than hormonal. And if you want to get totally shredded (like for a comp or photo shoot) you should definitely ditch the birth control pills.

BTW, we also know that hormonal birth control has a life-long risk of serious side effects which vary with the method of birth control chosen. I am realistic enough to recognize that pregnancy and child-birth are an even greater health risk to females, but all women have to weigh these risks (and benefits) for themselves when choosing how to control reproduction (or NOT). ||202.180.64.90||reg|| Z||000007||goldsgirl||12-06-2000||12:32 PM||||I am ending my first cycle of anavar - 10 mg per day. I am also on birth control pills, not only for pregancy prevention, but also for endometriosis. My first period was a couple of days late, but I missed my second period all together. It was supposed to be last week (7 weeks on anavar). I did a clear blue easy on Sunday and it came back negative. The gains on this small eight week cycle outweigh missing my period. I am now taking about 5 weeks off and then will start another 11 week cycle. The greasy hair and acne are the worst.||205.188.195.172||reg|| Z||000008||F1hybrid||12-06-2000||12:39 PM||phatboy@columbus.rr.com||Greasy hair and acne from the pill or anavar?

I'd also bet that the oxandrolone alone would slow the endometriosis. It's effects should be similar to Danazol in that it inhibits LH and FSH secretion. You should have your doc check your LH, FSH and E2 on your next cycle of oxandrolone to see if this is in fact the case.

Now please DO NOT get any far flung ideas!

With all the new developments on the human genome, I just was thinking of all the moral debates our children are going to have when they are ready to have kids....

Problem is androgens affect a number of systems besides skeletal muscle (i.e., cardiac muscle, bone and early bone closure, insulin sensitivity, etc., and who knows what else during gestation).

Really bad idea if anyone were to seriously consider this. I think the odds of producing a really fucked up kid who will have to live with the results of his parent's stupidity are enormous.
