A||||17||^KitanA^||Need a good cardio workout|||||| Z||000000||^KitanA^||10-31-2000||12:56 AM||||I'm and looking to lose some hardcore bf. Any ideas about a good cutting program? Currently do 30min cardio first thing every morning and not seeing any more loss. I lift 3 times a week. Doesn't seem like I'm lifting very often, but I tend to bulk easy and I don't want to get too big or my basketball goes down the drain. I'm trying to improve my stamina more than power, so I presume cardio is the way to go. Personally, I could live without stepping onto another treadmill for the rest of my life and still die happy- I hate cardio. But, we all suffer.

But try switching up a 60 minute cardio session, ex. 30 minutes cross-trainer, 30 minute bike. I get good results without the treadmill. go hard the whole time...to make it more interesting bring your fastest favorite music, and it makes time go pass a lot faster.||192.139.30.2||reg|| Z||000003||tnheygirl||10-31-2000||01:46 PM||tnheygirl@ziplip.com||Well I stopped losing on the treadmill and got on the Stairmaster(which I hate with an almighty passion) and am dropping inches like crazy. Still hate though...||63.22.111.112||reg|| Z||000004||litl warrior||10-31-2000||07:40 PM||litlwarrior@hotmail.com||I like the eliptical machines. The ones with arms that move really get your heart rate up. Definetly get some fast, hard music to jam to. My personal favorite is Metallica. People at my gym probably think I'm nuts because I shaking my head to the beat like I'm headbanging. Makes the workout go by faster. ||32.101.65.226||reg|| Z||000005||Plato||10-31-2000||11:07 PM||askplato@yahoo.com||Why is 60 min the magic number? I know that the body goes into a different stage after twenty, but what's the rest of the story? Is 45 too few? ||205.134.242.113||reg|| Z||000006||WarLobo||11-01-2000||10:52 AM||warlobo@operamail.com||Plato, 20min is not long enough, it can take some folks 40min to deplete blood energy reserves. Only when these reserves are used, will the body start to break down the fat stores (IT HATES TO DO THIS) And a solid 60min achieves this every time. It’s a much more efficient use of our time as well. We can do less over all cardio and get a greater return of fat loss.

I've read (on this board, I think) 10-20 when cardio is done first thing.||24.247.37.235||reg|| Z||000008||MS||11-01-2000||02:41 PM||mad.scientist55@hushmail.com||liloak, even first thing in the am your liver is still chocked full of glycogen that needs to be burned before you can sart on the fat. I also think anything less than 60 minutes is marginal for fatloss. MOST people I know need 5-10 minutes just to warm up and get into the groove when they've just fallen out of bed. Then an additional 20-40 minutes to deplete liver glycogen. ||139.80.64.4||reg|| Z||000009||^KitanA^||11-01-2000||11:24 PM||||But my liver shouldn't be stuffed full of glycogen if I'm eating low carb, which I am. I only digest carbs in the form of dextrose before a game/training session. And I'm usually in ketosis after that, so I assume I burn it all up. So technically, I'm stressing the technical part, 20 min of cardio on low carb will achieve the same thing as 60 min of cardio in terms of fat burning.||24.113.48.151||reg|| Z||000010||WarLobo||11-02-2000||12:08 AM||warlobo@operamail.com||

Well, in my book, 60 min is a good place to start. Give it a try. You never know, it just might work.

It's not clear what you're current diet is to me, but you imply that you're always in ketosis. In any event, if you're not losing the fat you want with your current program, why not try 60 minutes cardio every second day. It takes no more time over a week than what you're currently doing and it may make things start happening for ya. Longer training sessions will also have a better impact on your stamina than lots of shorter ones. Good luck what ever you decide.||139.80.64.4||reg|| Z||000012||Temple||11-02-2000||08:46 PM||dtkb@gpcom.net||I did everything I could think of to avoid 60 min cardio session, I reasoned the 30 min 6 times a week = 3 30 min sessions, but after having it laid on the line by BMom I got my happy ass up this a.m. and got on the treadmill for the whole 60 min. The experience was eyeopening... first of all something happened at about the 45 min mark, my energy went to hell, my ears started ringing a bit and quite frankly my brain wasn't functioning quite so well - guess that means that my liver had just been tapped out. Finally I finish the boring 60 min from hell and am feeling pretty proud of myself when my butt and leg muscles start to twitch - its been almost a year since they did that after cardio finally they just settled into a bit of a dull ache and I have had the feeling that my body was in a state of shock kind of like "what in the hell was that all about!!??" It is now 7 p.m. and I have the minutes til bedtime counted. My brain function has gradually returned to normal and day after tomorrow you will find me back on the treadmill for another 60 min. The bottom line is there is a difference when you do 60 min of cardio..just try it. Also if you do what you have always done you will get what you have always got.||216.170.51.97||reg|| Z||000013||WarLobo||11-02-2000||09:00 PM||warlobo@operamail.com||You all got do set your cardio with SOMETHING to do. In which case I don't think youre doing it hard enough....I can't even BREATHE at the end of my cardio sessions let alone be able to concentrate on a TV DURING...WTF????||205.210.127.50||reg|| Z||000016||WarLobo||11-03-2000||10:49 AM||warlobo@operamail.com||I think we have a slight misconception - I NEVER do cardio... well, sometimes. But when the wife was getting ready for a show or whatever, she would do this. With 60 min sessions, the goal is not to damage and break down your muscle in your legs. But rather to keep a nice steady pace (monitor your heart beats) and burn FAT! We are not training for time trials in track and field folks. Yes, it may be hard at first and take some ramp up time, but within a month you'll put 60 away with no problems

I too watch tv whilst I run my little (hopefully getting littler) buns off...but it's more about having some changing scenery while I'm on the treadmill....the tv's are muted and I just kind of let that glazed over feeling come on and run like hell!!!||204.89.159.101||reg||
