She's 18 and in college. She's been training for two years and weighs 157. She wants to get down to 150. Shit, I'd love her if she was 250 lbs. The problem is she doesn't prepare her own food and doesn't have alot of money. I suggested cutting carbs but she really didn't like that idea. She does cardio at least 4 times a week. I really don't know what to tell her being that cardio is'nt helping and she does not want to cut carbs. She has trouble with thermos also. I know this is a sort of dumb post but like I said I don't know what to tell her. I would apreciate any tips or advice I could pass on. Thanx

Simple sugars or complex carbos? When is she eating them most? How about her fat intake? If she could just either A. stop her carb intake at night or B. switch from simple to complex, maybe this could help her. Is she eating most of her meals at college? If she gets hungry in the evening, then eat a chicken breast or a can of tuna.
I'm a carb maniac myself, so I can understand her unwillingness. You get used to it, though.

What's her b/f%? How tall is she and what are her goals other than weighing 150? Does she do any weight training? How much protein does she eat? As we have ALL learned if she builds muscle she will lose FAT.

I'm glad that she's into weights especially so young! If I knew then, what I know now....OK, I'm straying off topic.

Why is it that she has a "magic number" (refering to her body weight)? The number on the scale don't mean JACK SHIT!!...I want to know her bf% - this is the # that counts! If she builds mass, she will be better able to burn body fat - no magic, just fact.

Get her on here and we'll show her the ropes!

She said she was happy when she was at 150. I have no idea what her bodyfat is but she is 5'6" . She use to train heavy 6-12 reps. She just recently switched to doing 15 reps. She does do cardio aproximately 4 times a week. I will e-mail her this thread and encourage her to register on here then she can better tell you her goals and questions. She is very dedicated.
