I have competed in figure- based contests & fitness-model searches, but never BB.....IG & myself had a long discussion which then carried over into a discussion at the gym with several competitive BB's, and they all said I have the muscle & symmetry.....The show I plan on competing in is in April or May & its an NPC show which has a qualifier for the team universe.....I have many people willing to help me learn to properly pose, one being a former Mr.Olympia runnerup......I wanted some early advice from the ladies on the board ( & men too) who have competed.....anything at all...any info or advice on anything is appreciated!!!||209.236.135.115||reg|| Z||000001||Iron God||09-25-2000||04:31 PM||irongod@hushmail.com|| Lobo said it best

If the former runner up guy is good, ok. But his near Mr.O status doesnt mean he had a good posing routine, not to mention that posing standards have changed significantly in the past 5 years.
Posing and music is soooo important! It can make the difference in two close to identical physiques.

A well established NPC judge would be your best bet for a coach, but as long as it's someone who knows their stuff it would be a good investment. Posing can definitely make or break a physique on stage.

Does this mean you're going on another 'bulking' cycle? How (if at all) will your training, diet and supplements change? You already have a fantastic physique so you go girl! Good luck.

Good friend of mine just did her first show and got best poser novice class...It really was amazing how much it drew your eyes to her because her posing was so good....She worked with a male trainer who taught her to pose and his Guru who taught him to pose... Watched alot of shows on tape to to learn the what not to do''s and to do's...It's pretty good to see the amateur shows because at eh elite level everyone is much on a level with posing and you don't see the rookie mistakes...It also makes for some hilarious evenings!!! frequently interspersed with and what is supposed to be flexing!?!? and if that's as hard as he can get making a face like that his wife must be miserable....||204.89.159.101||reg|| Z||000005||~%%~OneKikAssWoman~%%~||09-25-2000||09:18 PM||lisathestrong@musclemail.com||Good luck, Fit Chick..

I have just competed in my third show and the crowd LOVED my routine (even though I was off - Off? Shit I almost fucking couldn't walk off the stage on my own from some MAJOR cramps! - the result of a few silly yet costly dieting mistakes) and picked me to be first.....but, alas, the audience, though nobody knew me was NOT filled with NPC judges....and I had to settle for second AGAIN! I mean, God - I have improved a lot since May and I know I still have SO FAR to go - but DAMN, WTF good are cuts in your quads if they don't show 'cause you forgot to bend your knees slightly? That's me, always the bridesmaid, never the bride. But enough about me....

You GO! Learn to pose and KICK SOME ASS. You've got the diet/training/stage presence/tanning/bikini-biting/pump-up-anything-but-your-legs thing down, a little posing and we'll be hearing about how well you did at the team universe. SHEESH!||24.4.252.80||reg|| Z||000007||F1hybrid||09-26-2000||09:26 AM||phatboy@columbus.rr.com||FitnessChick:

Pick out your music at least 10 weeks out and start working on a routine at that time. Come up with an outline of poses, ones that best display your physique, then incorporate them into a routine that is fluid with clean transitions. Stay with you best shots for the prejuding but incorporate some variety into the evening routine.

Your posing should be nailed down to perfection 2 weeks out.

Remember, this is bodybuilding, not fitness. Too many women, including the pros use a dance routine and never display their physiques. Make sure you hold your poses long enough to display what you've worked hard to develop. Avoid open handed poses. Fingers spread out draw the eye away from the body. It also keeps the forearm straight which usually compresses it against the bicep and ruins bicep shots (front and back).

Remember detail. You have to be able to flex every muscle at the same time. Whether you hit it all at once, or start from the feet up like Flex Wheeler. Point is, don't forget to keep the hams and calves tight when hitting a rear double bicep, etc.

Posing is a bitch, no way around it and that's why there are so many shitty routines out there.

Veteran NPC judges are pretty good choices. I'd get impressions from more than one however, preferrably both genders.

Remember, nothing should be done last minute. If you're not nearly ready two weeks out, you've waiting too long.

Good Luck.

Competeing is not in my mind right now but I have taken some pics for progress reason and some attempts at posing. Its tough work - I can see how a coach would be enormously helpful. Posing offers me a good opportunity to laugh at myself too!! he he he.

You will do wonderfully, I'm sure. Let us know your progress.

MS.....I am 4 weeks into a cycle but its not a true bulking cycle....I am dieting for a shoot this friday & sunday so I needed to stay lean.....I want ot do one more"bulking" cycle in Dec or Jan....

Anyone know anything about NPC drug testing.....what do they test for.....I know diuretics.....and does anyone have any info on clearence times for winny & primo.....||209.236.135.181||reg|| Z||000011||Lthrnk||09-26-2000||03:28 PM||lthrnk@hushmail.com||Good Luck Fitnesschick

It was a forgone conclusion (as far as I'm concerned) that a lot of athletes would fail tests at Sydney. The testing equipment they're using is around 10 times more sensitive than at previous games, and they also detect a wider range of masking drugs. But assuming your urine goes to an average testing center in America then the standard clearance time for Primo is 5 months, winny injectable 2 months, and winny oral around 3 weeks. I have a feeling that NPC now tests to IOC standard, since IFBB bodybuilding is now an olympic sport, but I'm not sure about that. Maybe they only test to IOC standard for international qualifiers......||139.80.64.184||reg|| Z||000013||FitnessChick||09-26-2000||03:56 PM||fitnesschick@hushmail.com||thanks for your input MS...anyone else.....& anyone who has competed care to give me some advice or input on this.....what did you do & how long before a show did you stop???||209.236.135.181||reg|| Z||000014||FitnessChick||09-27-2000||02:37 PM||fitnesschick@hushmail.com||bump----still looking for those clearence times||209.236.135.171||reg|| Z||000015||Fitnessbarbie||09-29-2000||11:04 AM||||FitnessChick: How much and how often are you taking winny & primo.....and did you say that you had no sides? How have your results been?
||208.37.94.71||reg|| Z||000016||FitnessChick||09-29-2000||02:53 PM||fitnesschick@hushmail.com||Actually i am only taking winny now----looking for primo info cause I am planning on using that my next cycle....I am using win inj 1 cc eod.....I am on week 6....so far my results haven't been as extreme as my last cycles--- I made unbelievable gains last cycle.....This time however I am on a strict diet for a shoot & the olympia....last time I was eating really high protein & carbs to maximize those gains.....heres the rundown on the info for all three cycles of winny I have done....

cycle #1.....last year....went from 123 at about 12% bf to 131 at about 11% bf....
I used winny orals for 4 weeks, a very mild cycle, If I remember correctly....
week 1- 4 mg daily
week 2- 6 mg daily
week 3- 8 mg daily
week 4- 8 then 6 mg daily.....

That was my first cycle & I was nervous & was only able to get 100 tabs..... Needless to say it was not a very good cycle....my gains were good, however Just when they really started to kick in it was over....

My second cycle.....this really helped my physique along tremendously....well i was back at 123 when I started... ( lost all my weight I gained from the previous cycle due to a family tragedy)......at about 11-12% bf.....at the end of my cycle I was up to 141 lbs at about 13% bf ( approx)...I did 1 cc eod for 9 weeks of winny inj....My strength shot up through the roof....before the cycle I was strong....benching 135 for 1-2....well after I was doing 135 for 12, & 185 was my o.r.m......flat dmblls went to 70's from 50's....squat up to 245, deadlift to 225....Gives me chills thinking about it....

Well, at week 6 I am back to 141 @ 10 % bf
At the beginning of this cycle i was 136 at about 12% bf.....

Sides.....Cycle 1 NONE, Cycle 2- A little acne ( no prob- derm cleared up....the last week a little raspiness in my voice....a little aggression....shall we say I developed a bit of a temper .....and my clit was a wee bit sensitive...okay- really sensitive.....This Cycle....a tiny bit of acne, agression, raspiness......however, all that ceased after my last cycle within 2-3 weeks....nothing happened that was anything major..... All In All I am thrilled with my winny results !
