Can you share some more specifics about what you are doing to get ready? Like Cardio? I know that your head is exploding from the chicken, squash, broccoli, yam the size of your hand diet--he he. The reason I ask is that I know you have to drop some bodyfat percentages fairly quickly. Are you doing cardio twice a day, once a day, for how long etc. Also how much cardio do you do off-season? ||152.163.194.179||reg|| Z||000001||bikinimom||08-31-2000||08:48 PM||bikinimom@hotmail.com||This week I did three double sessions (45 min a pop) and two singles (45 - 60 min) in addition to weight training, but I'm so freaking weak from such a calorie restricted diet that it is SAD, SAD, SAD!...Next week I will be doing 5 doubles in addition to weight training - basic movements, high rep sets, keep squeezin em out until your eyeballs pop (which is pretty easy to do these days ) Then I'll be going through carb depletion and finally carb loading/sodium depletion and watch my eyeballs dry up in my head!!! FUN, FUN, FUN - I'll be posting from the freaking sauna!

Off season - I did anywhere from 2 to 3 45min sessions per week as I tried to focus on gaining mass. I don't know what I will do this time around - as I'll see what opportunities unfold for me in the near future. My body has suffered a lot from all the kiddies and even though the miracles of technology have allowed me to look OK on the outside - the inside is not fairing as well. That is why I realize that my days as a competitive bb are numbered. BB will always remain a passion but no trophy is worth having stuff drop out of ya! I still like to put on a little more mass - shoulders, arms, tighten up legs (add a little size there too) but as I am not allowed to wear a belt EVER I don't know if I will be able to lift weight heavy enough to ellicit enough growth to step up a weight class. I realize that I will probably never be able to make it past the "rinky-dink" local level, but that is enough for me. Just the satisfaction that comes from knowing that I did compete and did it well is quite a lot for a woman in my position. It is because of these physical limitations that I MUST keep realistic goals.

I will continue to compete as long as I am having fun (How sick is THAT statement?). I love to do all the pain-in-the-arse things you have to do to get on stage and then performing - FORGET ABOUT IT!...It is such a rush to get up there and say - DAMN, LOOK WHAT I'VE DONE!...Also, the respect that I have gained from my girls in particular, hubby and others as well means more to me that any trophy or dollar amount. The feeling is indescribable when total strangers comment on my physique and my daughters proudly volunteer, "Well, you know, my mom's a body builder!" I tell them to hush because it actually does embarrass me (I know that is hard to believe.). And they respond, "Why shouldn't we tell, Mommy - people want to know what you do and that's what you do!"

OK, OK - you can tell I actually just ate (MM, MM squash and two chicken breast tenderloins! - It just doesn't get any better than that!). I'll probably try to stay a little leaner this off-season, about 14 - 15% and see where I go. I don't intend to compete again untill the summer 2001 or fall....there is a little more to life than broccoli, squash, chicken and yams that are no greater than the size of your fist! ||24.4.252.80||reg|| Z||000002||riptchick||08-31-2000||11:09 PM||riptchick@operamail.com||Thanks for the reply, BMOM.
