I read an article that stated using flaxseed oil could help bring a menstrual cycle back...anyone experience this? Ever since the fats been cut from my diet I haven't been regular - going on four months now. I also don't know how much of the oil I would need. I'm eating 1100 cals with 147g of protein, 92g of carbs and 16g of fat. I came across capsules (prefer this method) for 500 and 1000 milligrams. Which should I start popping?||63.251.252.4||reg|| Z||000001||WarLobo||07-31-2000||09:39 PM||warlobo@operamail.com||This is something new to me, never heard it could help restore the M. Cycle. One thing I can tell you is to not use the capsules at all. Use the liquid form. With the caps you can not tell if the Flax is good or bad (and it can go bad fast)

The pill forms are not as good quality and you have to take so many of them to get what a tablespoon of liquid equals. Here is a link that has literature benefits to liquid flax seed oil. www.barleans.com/literature/index.html

Although it is true that your lower bodyfat is fundamental in the production of hormones, I cannot say that simply consuming fat will serve the same purpose. Working out on 1100 calories means that you must weigh about......85#?!

And I'm nowhere near 85lbs - more like 140. I just started doing the One Meal a Day plan (beginning of thrid week) to help take some weight off and lower my bf%. I'm not losing muscle either - actually my workouts are getting better and more intense as I see results and more definition. I'll look into the posted sight to see the other benefits of the flaxseed oil and start looking for the liquid type. ||63.251.252.4||reg|| Z||000006||MS||08-01-2000||03:07 PM||mad.scientist55@hushmail.com||I agree that you should try to get the liquid down ya. You should be consuming 1-2 tablespoons per day, which would be 15-30 of the 1000mg capsules! And, as WarLobo said, it's hard to tell if the caps have turned rancid, whereas the liquid smells and tastes bad when it goes bad.

I've heard of Flaxseed alleviating some of the symptoms of PMS (same as EPO), and if you've stopped your cycle because of low bodyfat then it may help, but then any fat would probably help. At the very least a couple of tablespoons of Flaxseed will increase your calories, which you definitely need!||139.80.64.4||reg|| Z||000007||BuffBlondie||08-02-2000||12:25 PM||buffchick2@aol.com||You should try using 1/2-1 tablespoon of flax oil with balsamic vinegar as a salad dressing...it's pretty yummy!
