Another example is spaghetti which on the index that I read was a low gi starch - okay or no? Is the insulin response lowered on high gi foods when eaten with a protein or a fat?
MS or Warlobo - I read on the Prozac profile that in diabetics it causes a hypoglycemic condition until discontinued at which point it causes hyperglycemia. I am not diabetic but what are the possible effects of this on a normal individual who is trying to lose the fat and gain muscle. When I discontinued the prozac a couple of years ago I gained weight like crazy! Starchy carbs? The reason we recommend fibrous vegies over grains/potatoes is several-fold. Fibrous vegies should be a large part of EVERY healthy diet. Fibrous vegies are much more filling for the same number of carbs. Compare 20 carb grams of pasta to 20 carb grams of celery and romaine lettuce. The pasta just ain't gonna fill ya. Fibrous vegies take LOTS longer to get broken down and assimilated than even the lowest GI starches. And they're chocked full of vitamins and minerals.

Yes the GI response is slowed when carbs are eaten with balanced protein/fat.

Prozac and diabetics? Prozac can increase insulin sensitivity. In 'normal' people on a carb reduced diet this is a positive side effect, much like taking chromium or ALA. In an insulin dependant diabetic this can cause problems if they don't adjust their insulin dose or eating habits. If you're used to eating a snickers bar and taking 2 units of insulin, and suddenly your body only needs 1 unit of insulin you will become hypoglycemic. Likewise if you stop the Prozac and you're now used to using only 1 unit to clear the snickers bar but your body needs 2 units again, well you'll end up Hyper. Doesn't apply to people with normally functioning pancreas.

Rebound weight gain is common for people coming off of Prozac. This doesn't mean it's not worth taking, merely that you should be aware of it. The same rebound is true of any weightloss. Coming off of ECA, ceasing a diet, stopping your cardio or T3/clen…. These will all lead to rebound weight gain if not done properly.

Of course there is another school of thought that thinks, much like insulin-dependant diabetics should not stop taking insulin, there are some people with chronically low Serotonin levels that should never come off Prozac. This is very controversial, but at the very least you should slowly taper off the Prozac just like you would a course of T3.

I would recommend doing 2 weeks of ECA, then GRADUALLY cutting back on the ECA over the next 2 weeks. As you cut back on the ECA, start adding in some caffeine without the ephedrine. When you're completely off the ephedrine, then you can start cutting back on the caffeine. Or you could just take a week off work.....||139.80.64.4||reg||
