I've always heard about symmetry in regards to bodybuilding, but I can't find anything that actually quantifies it in numbers for women. For instance if my waist measures X, what should my chest and hips measure to be considered symmetrical? And how does that correlate to the size of other body parts like biceps, thighs and calves?

I understand that symmetry can be subjective in that everyone has different bone structure and a person can still give the appearance of symmetry through diligent training. I'm not looking for exact measurements, but just a general guideline. I saw a chart on Iron Dungeon http://www.geocities.com/Colosseum/Field/4992/weights.html called Ideal Body Proportions Table but from looking at the numbers, it's more geared towards men. I'd like some numbers for women. Another question - whenever there is talk about measuring hips, does that mean around the fattest part of the butt or somewhere else? I've never known the answer to this either. Same for chest - does that include breasts or not?

Thanks!

This is a great question FitFossil...I don't have hard numbers but I would agree that it is subjective. I'm sure that the pro's here can give you a better answer.
