You will notice that both products - both the amino acid pill and the whey protein powder - have the three BCAA's. Only in different quantities. So tell me, how is my statement so "far off"? How is taking a smaller amount of quality whey protein that much different from supplementing with aminos? Even if you took the 3 BCAA's seperately, how would that give you different results than just taking them together?

In those posts, I've never seen him say anything that wasn't accurate or knowledgable, and unlike you, I've never seen him be an asshole. While my reply to his question probably wasn't what he was looking for, it was my brief opinion on the supplementation of BCAA's, since I looked into purchasing them myself not long ago, but was advised by both people who used them and those who sell them that taking whey protein in their place would give a very similar effect.
There was really no need for your comments. You read the title of riskybiz's post. If it din't interest you and you had no intention of saying something uselful, why did you even go into it? Who are you to call people lazy or pathetic?

BCAA is only leucine, isoleucine, and valine. whey is, as you stated, a source of protein that has almost all of the amino acids. if you take a 36g serving of BCAA, it should be 12g of each of the 3 BCAAs. i do agree that if you are consuming large quantities of whey, BCAA is probably unneccessary due to the high BCAA content found in whey. however, they are still vastly different and not at all the same product as you seemed to imply.

and as a reply to your last post, the original comparison was between whey and BCAA. why are you bringing amino acid tabs into the discussion? i never said a word about amino acid tabs.

And D17, just because I wasn't very specific in what I said in my original post doesn't give you the right to refer to my knowledge as a "pathetic lack there of". The "theme" of my post was that supplementing free-form BCAA's would not have a very different effect from obtaining them through whey. While I probably shouldn't have said that they are basically the same thing, I meant to say that consuming them would elicit basically the same effect. Sometimes on these boards, you feel like dropping a quick opinion and you forget to type a word or two that you meant to say. Instead of asking me exactly what I meant, or just saying whatever it is you had to say about BCAA's, you instead began to flame me and harass riskybiz about posting the topic in the first place.
Why did I bring amino acid tabs into the discussion? Because the vast majority of people who are after BCAA's consume them in this manner. And at the end of that post, I still asked, how would it be different if you took ONLY the BCAA's, without all other amino acids.
The point is BCAA's give you the same fucking results whether you get them as free form amino acids, amino tabs or whey protein. You're getting your leucine, isoleucine and valine either way!

Anyway, since I'm on this board to help people, and get help from others, not fight, I am ending this post with the sincere hope that you too will use Elitefitness as a means of sharing opinion, experience and information, not an outlet for personal insults. And as for my lack of knowledge, I would love to know why people, some of whom aren't even active participants on Elitefitness, e-mail me asking for advice based on my posts, take my advice and then thank me because it works.

vlaovic: same thing, you already flamed me in your first reply. i think the second time was a bit over the top, and shows a lack of maturity. we all have our bad days, and if you noticed, most of my flames came on the same day. i have been helpful, check some of my posts. good for you that people email you for help. if someone wants mine i'd be glad to help out.

i will also add that i don't believe most people turn to amino pills for their source of BCAAs. if they do it shows a lack of understanding of what exactly the BCAAs are. if you want BCAAs, by a powder that is just BCAAs. simple as that.
