Gary Player, one of the greatest golfers of all time, is fed up with the cheating in professional golf. You will not believe how far Player has gone to blow the whistle on the game he loves.<\/p>\n

The stereotypical golfer is usually seen as a khaki wearing, polo shirt sporting, beanpole who also happens to be part of a rare breed that can get away with wearing a visor in public. About the only time you see a muscle-bound golfer is in one of those cheesy long drive competitions on ESPN2 where contestants can use just about any piece of equipment they can find in order to help them smack the ball further.<\/p>\n

But the scene of golf could all change according to a golfing legend who has won nine majors in his career. Gary Player believes that the game of golf is saturated with steroids and HGH as he said, \u201cWhether it\\'s HGH, whether it\\'s Creatine or whether it\\'s steroids, I know for a fact that some golfers are doing it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pardoning Player for not knowing in his old age that Creatine is legal in golf, the point is that he has some insider information that the rest of us don\u2019t as a current player confessed to him that he is indeed taking steroids.<\/p>\n

When asked who this mystery player was, Gary said, \u201cI took an oath prior to him telling me. I won\\'t tell you where but he told me what he did, and I could see this massive change in him. And somebody else told me something, that I also promised I wouldn\\'t tell, that verified others had done it.\"<\/p>\n

\"Gary Others are skeptical of these accusations though such as the world\u2019s top golfer Tiger Woods who said, \u201cIf anything, probably out here it would be testing positive for maybe being hung over a little bit. But that\\'s about it. I know some guys have taken Medrol packs for inflammation in their wrists, but other than that, I really don\\'t see anybody doing anything, or have heard anybody doing anything.\"<\/p>\n

However, Player remains adamant about his comments saying he believes that at least 10 golfers are using steroids or HGH and maybe even more.<\/p>\n

I, myself, tend to agree with Player as there is just too much money out there for pro golfers not to be doing whatever it takes to make it to the top. 267 million dollars in PGA prize money will be dished out this year alone. Now that\u2019s an incentive!<\/p>\n

Player has also called for random drug testing too as he\u2019s pleaded with the United States Golf Association (USGA) and the Royal & Ancient, golf\u2019s two top governing bodies. He also said, \u201cIt\\'s absolutely essential that we do that (implement drug testing). We\\'re dreaming if we think it\\'s not going to come into golf.\u201d<\/p>\n

The truth is, Player is on to something and golf is dreaming if they think that performance enhancing drugs will be void in their sport. Just look at players who are hitting 200 yard shots with a seven-iron or those who are pounding shots out of the eight inch rough. Don\u2019t think that those 40 year-old golfers at the top of the leader boards might be using HGH?<\/p>\n

Whether golf\u2019s governing bodies truly believe the game is clean or they just think they are just too high and mighty to consider testing, they\u2019re lying to themselves either way. Where there\u2019s millions of dollars, there are athletes willing to take chances on getting caught using steroids as long as it means a competitive advantage.
