The study will be based on a survey of people who have used steroids - and that\\'s the part we need your help with. The study is being conducted by Jason Cohen, a doctorial level psychology graduate student, and the survey is an anonymous, fair, and balanced Internet questionnaire regarding anabolic steroid usage.<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of the study is to better understand the perceived benefits of anabolic steroid use, the type and severity of physical and psychological side effects which may be experienced by users, and the addiction potential or lack of addiction potential of steroids. I believe that the results of the survey might help dispel some of the myths and misconceptions surrounding non-medical steroid usage and the profiles and behaviors of those who use steroids. And Rick Collins explained to me that in his criminal defense law practice, these myths and misconceptions routinely present serious obstacles to the fair and impartial administration of justice. I\\'m encouraged by the possibility of what this survey might do if I can get your help.<\/p>\n<p>Jason Cohen will not contact you personally and he has no connection to law enforcement. To protect you privacy and confidentiality, and to ensure the integrity of the survey, Jason has employed all the best practices. Jason used SurveyMonkey.com to administer the survey. The survey is protected through Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) 128 bit encryption and 1024 bit exchange. This is the same protocol used to obtain confidential information over the internet in transactions such as credit card purchases. This protects the information from interception. Second, the information will be stored in a password protected and hidden vault via GhostSurf (www.tenebril.com) on a computer protected by Symantec, Pre-Empt (www.detto.com) and B-Identified (www.biopassword.com). Third, your survey results will never be analyzed individually. What this means is all responses will be pooled and Jason will have no way of knowing who reported specific information. <strong>Your IP address will not be logged.<\/strong> Fourth, no information that can be used to identify you, such as name, address, social security number, etc., is requested. And please do not provide this information. Information such as age is requested and will be used for statistical analysis only.<\/p>\n<p>Rick Collins had extensive discussions with Jason, and after those discussions, he became confident that this is a sincere effort to be objective about anabolic steroids. Rick assisted in drafting portions of the questionnaire to help ensure that the quality of the findings will be maximized. The study will examine the data and offer discussion and conclusions free of bias. The larger the sample size, the better the data. Well over 500 participants have already completed the survey. Here\\'s a link to this <a href=\"\/\/www.elitefitness.com\/go\/survey\" target=\"_blank\">secure, confidential and anonymous survey<\/a>. I urge all Elite Fitness members who are over 18 years old and who have ever used anabolic steroids to take the survey, and recommend it to online friends and gym buddies. I am hopeful that this will be the largest sampling of steroid usage in history.<\/p>\n<p>Data will be collected over the next few months. And it is anticipated that the results will be published in a peer-reviewed journal. If permissible, preliminary or selected findings will be released in advance of the official publication. Please take the time to complete this crucial step toward educating America about the truths associated with AAS usage.
