vacation eating

Hi everybody!

I'm going on vacation in 2wks. Going to the s for 1 wk. Going to be w/ friends & they're not healthy eaters. I don't want to blow my diet when i'm there but i don't want to feel restricted like i can't enjoy myself. Not sure what i can eat for long periods of time while being @ the beach all day. Thought foods like cottage cheese & yogert would be ok but i can't tollerate them that well. So my question is, what types of foods do you guys take w/ you when your @ the beach? Dried fruit is loaded w/ so much sugar i had to se that one too. I'm running out of ideas. I think i'll be spending time in the hotel room preparing meals for the beach or else eat empty calorie foods that won't satisfy me. And those Protein bars will just make me break out if i eat one of them every day there as a meal replacement. So what do you guys do when you're on vacation like the s? Any thoughts or suggestions are soooooooooo much appreciated!

thx,

annie

Hello

Will you have a cooler with you? You can bring tuna (if you have a cooler), chicken , rice cakes w/ your favorite spread (I love hummus), anpb, nuts, Protein powder in a baggie (to pour into a cup of water), etc.

This is what I've brought in the past when I haven't had access to a fridge:
nuts
fruit e.g. apples, oranges
dry oats
brown rice cakes
whey powder
tuna/chicken cans
tuna/salmon pouches
Ezeikal bread
Protein bars
ready-to-drink Protein shakes
soy snacks

If you have access to a fridge, I would just go grocery shopping at the s and stock it up well.

Yup Roony had lots of good suggestions... I know on my last road trip I took canned tuna and chicken, canned green beans, Oats, Protein shakes in cans, Rice cakes, apples, low carb tortillas, and some ANPB (but yes like you said... start eating that and can't stop its good on those tortillas though)
