Feeling sad

Hi everyone,

I am 21 yrs old and have my very first competition this June 5th... I was 4 weeks out and now I am 3 weeks out. I am mentally tired and physically exhausted. I feel very sad and had to eat... I feel like I have completely messed up..

I am getting back on track, but I feel that since I messed up I have ruined everything I worked for. I don't want to dissapoint my friends and myself.. I really enjoy all of this, but this first contest has been very hard for me. I had to figureall the diet/training out and felt lost numerous times. I starting dieting down in March b/c I didn't know what I was doing and thankfully found some friends who showed me the correct way. I still live with my parents which is VERY hard b/c theyhave cakes, cookies, ice cream everywhere and yell at me for not eating. I still will like to do more of these contests b/c I have a passin for lifting and gymnastics and hopefully shooting for one in nov or sooner depending on how well i do june 5th. I just hope I don't embarrass myself on stage.( That's what I am afraid of)

I jusr wanted to express my feelings that all...any feedback would be nice,

~Elana

Poor baby. I share your pain, especially parents-wise. I try to convince myself that I will succeed. I literally look psycho talking to myself, but it works sometimes. I also cry a lot...maybe if you let it out...

I'm positive that if you get everything in check from now till June 5th, you will do MUCH better than any other time. Remember, predicting your failure only sets you for failure. Let time tell. Good luck, and best wishes.

Hello Elana,

I know how hard it is!! I am dieting myself and I am 8 weeks out from my show . So you had a cheat meal, dont let this bring you down!! You have worked too hard all this time to let one cheat make you feel this way. You have to put it behind you and move on!! Train harder and take a day to rest up if your feeling tired. A lot of women think the more pain and exhaustion the better!! NOT CORRECT!! You need sleep so that your body's natural growth hormones can repair your muscles. I am confident you are in terrific shape and that whatever junk you ate was most likely burned by your body!! For the next 3 weeks just be very concious of what you eat and hang in there your almost there!!! And dont worry Your Going to Look Great for your show!!

Best of Luck!! Hang in there and keep posting there are great women and men on this board with tons of knowledge!!

Hi Elana. Just wanted you to know that I'm there with you. I'm 7 weeks out from my first comp, and it's starting to wear me down. I'm just so exhausted. I also started dieting about 16 weeks out, because this is all new to me. Anyway, don't beat yourself up about a little cheat. Like Ischia said, I'm sure you burned any calories or fat that you ate. You've come farther than most people ever will as far as health and fitness is concerned. And you've committed to something that most people can't even imagine. So get back on track, and you're gonna do great.

If I were not in ATL, I would have tried to help sooner, but I am glad to hear (read) the ^^^ post.

IMHO, look thru Sassy's and M24K's through the ups and downs, the final results for each of them are different, but VERY self-satisying, inspiring and motivating as h3ll (and I must say they BOTH blow me away).

What I have learned from the feats of the other two wonderFUL women who just competed, the end result far outweighed the bumps it took to get there, there is more to this than a shiny trophy in the end. I will probably get my feet wet very soon...

Good luck with your progress.
