Do heavy deadlifts thicken your waist/midsection?

What do you all think?

A slim midsection really contributes to a nice physique.

All the old bbers did heavy deads and maintained a good midesection though...

Everyone I know who does deadlifts and squats on consistent bases have very thick physiques due to the muscle on the obliques and lower back

If I have to add one inch on my waist in exchange for gaining strength and mass in the entire body, I will gladly do it

My waist went up one inch from switching to powerlifting. No biggie. It's mostly erector and oblique, so it's all good. :)

I think Franco Columbo had a thick waist. But he had a very low body fat and a huge upper body so you couldn't tell. Anybody else think Franco had the best body ever? He looked awesome in pumping iron. He should have won.

I've definitely added size to my erectors and obliques. It's all good though, especially if my legs and shoulders can still balance it out :)
