barbell bench press vs. dumbbell bench press

which one do u do and is there a difference??

which one is more effective?

I was doing dumbell for a couple weeks and then did bench with the bar and incline with the bar and WOW I was sore the next day (a good soreness)
 
I switch between both every few months or so.

DB seems to hit my pecs more directly, while I feel like I get an "all over" pump from BB.

I can only do DB for inclines, though.

i like to do DB's for incline and BB for flat since its a bitch trying to get up and down on the flat bench holding the heavy DB's, know what im sayin?
 
I quit doing barbell for years, and only did dumbells, have to say
my strength was good, and definately less aches and pains. I think development wise it may not matter, it's kind of an individual
thing, but for aches and pains, db's are much easier on you.
