This is exactly why it got deleted.

Trust me, i've argued it quite extensively before, and been giving this reason a many times.

That's why I absolutely hate the idea of advertisers being mods, not that I don't like them.

Well, to play Devil's advocate, EF's sponsors pay big dollars to advertise here so they should be able to promote their products in a relatively competition free environment. Otherwise, why pay the $$$ to advertise here?

Hahahahahaha .. .no ! Bro ... I have a thread a few lines and the TITLE names a liqued research company! Its still here. I guess the only reason that its still here is because they are a paid sponser (the ones I asked about). If I asked about another one, it may have been deleted. My thread dosent really promote them at all though.

I agree I think that mods should not be advertisers, nor should they push anything that they have not personally tried or tested or heard of people using, and they should state which of the above is why the suport a prod/company.

I guess that it will always be like that. There are some real good mods out there though. YOu just got to find out which ones they are.

My post was pretty much a complaint, that I could not get in touch with them, and was wondering if they were still in business. This was not a promotion! If our sponsors would honor other competitors prices, I'd always give them my business.

WOW! Even if your post is post is OK, if someone does not like it, for whatever reason, they'll delete it without notice. That's pretty F**KED UP! This board is all about freedom. Freedom of speech, freedom to do what we wish to our bodies. The sensorship of even mentioning another company, is totally against everything this board is about and stands for. I WAS NOT PROMOTING THE OTHER COMPANY! I DIDN'T SAY ANYTHING AGAINST OUR SPONSORS!

I read the rules of the board, and they never said that, if you mention another company, that didn't pay money for advertising space, your post will be deleted. This really needs to be added. No mention of sources, or posts(good or bad) with a company's name that didn't pay EF money.

I would drop it. This issue has been brought up and discussed on several occassions by many different people and the result has always been the same. You can't post links to sites that aren't sponsors of EF.

If someone really wanted to stir up , you should start a thread COMPARING ALL of Elite's sponsers. hehhehe, That way people could tell the good and bad about each compare which is better and what sucks. It would be legit because it only discusses sponsers, but it would turn into a flame fest. Although it would be legit, I would give it 5 mins max. before it was deleted.

It's not all that unfair. The sponsors PAY to advertise here and if one of their competitors sends a half a dozen people over here, I know that's not you but you know what I mean, and they post about that competitor all day the sponsor is going to say, "why am I paying to be on a board my competitor spams for free?"
Trust me, this was a huge problem here a couple years ago. You should remember it. Now the mods are instructed to delete threads about sponsor competitors.
What do think Pepsi would say if a dozen people walked around the aisles of the Pepsi 400 waving Coke banners in front of all the cameras?
It's not sad, it just business.
