The recording quality would be terrible. You need to be able to mix the sound, add effects, reverb etc. that's what the I-Onix enables you to do. It's is nearly the ability of a full mixing board and studio on the PC. Technology for it these days is pretty impressive. for all that
gear, you'll probably drop about 1000 bucks.
Just be lucky you'e not a drummer. My last drum kit cost 6800 bucks for the drums themselves. Hardware and cymbals cost another 2000. Top of th eline stuff, but since I doing recording, I need it. It's totally different than a guitar though. You need an entire mixing board to mic drums and record. It's extremely meticulous and frustrating to dial in each mic just right.
