for breakfast today I had 6 whole eggs (350ml when beaten up) 2 slices wholemeal bread medium thickness, 10g creatine, 1oz whey (about 1 and a quarter scoops), 1 pint whole milk, 30g raisens, 2oz oats, vitamins, 2tsp sugar, 1 small croissant, a cup of coffee and several tablespoons of organic yogurt.

That's what I have for breakfast actually. 2 cups of milk, 1 scoop whey, 1 scoop casein, 1 cup of oats, 1 tbsp of olive oil blended. Tastes good and has tons of calories, whoel grains and is a good day starter for someone who doesn't have time to cook breakfast.

well yeah, getting a shake is better than missing the meal totally. Especially if you make the shake in milk and toss some oats and a banana in there or something like that...

You make a good point that whole food is most definitely better than a shake. I'm with you on that one for sure. Anyone who argues against it is retarded.

However, if you can't get a solid meal in, depending on the person schedule and life, throwing in a shake in place of a meal is not only useful, but perhaps necessary.

Im a firm believer a diet (especially bulking diet) should be mostly whole food meals. I stopped taking shakes for most of 2009 and it forced me to rely on whole foods - steak, potatoes, chicken, eggs, milk, brown rice, oats, fruits etc I just added in shaked again maybe a month ago and maximum I have is 2 in a day. I always have one post workout at the gym with some simple carbs but other than that the only time is sometimes on weekends I will start the day with a shake and a banana, then eat my breakfast 60-90mins later. I rarely ever have shakes other than that.

Whats the point drinking them throughout the day when the whey digests so quickly at a time when your body doesnt need protein that fast - not much of it will be used so to me, its a waste of money.
