Ac Joint????
Having some SERIOUS shoulder issues. When I take off my shirt, you can actually see a knot above my trap where the ac joint comes together. I can incline bench without a problem. When I flat bench, it cracks the entire way down. Then at night, it throbs to a point where I need 4-5 advil to cope and sleep. Anyone have a problem of this sort? Remedies?

.. that sucks ![]() have you tried adjusting the angle of your elbows, with regards to how close or far out they are from your torso? I know that helps with rotator cuff, not sure about this... that is weird that you can incline with no problem. |

Re: Ac Joint????
Hey bro, I'm a licensed Physician Assistant for some orthopedic surgeons and here is what you need to do. First off, go see an orthopedic Dr. and get some x-rays to be sure the only problem is the ac joint and not the underside of the acromion. You may even want to get a cortisone shot into the joint to give you some quick pain and anti inflammatory reduction. Just be forwarned that the shot will hurt because this joint is very small, which is why people like us have so many problems with it. Also, get him to give you some 25mg Vioxx. Take one a day. Worst case scenario for you is an arthroscopy to shave the joint down. Procedure takes about 30min total and you'll be working out again in 3-4 weeks. Maybe 6-8 before a good workout though. PM me if you have any other questions.
