i have the name of company i am planning on purchasing my gear from. my freind gave me the name of the company. i want to check and see if it is a legitamate source, is there a site i can go to where bogus ditributers are posted. or i can t

Follow that link and also use plat search to verify specific names which may be in the posts.

I believe the scammer thread was just updated as well. If it is an online company though, I would stay away from them.
