is it just me, or are cops working AGAINST US.

never been in a situation where law enforcement ever made me feel safer, never felt like they contributed to my overall safety or well-being. in fact in any situation where you are genuinely in danger of physical harm or loss of possessions i.e. theft, they are useless or careless.

it seems however, that they are one of the great dangers that many of us face for exercising what should be our civil liberties in the land of the "free".

LE = Necessary evil. It's unlikely a police will ever be in a position to help you, but if there weren't any coppers there would be anarchy in the streets. You wouldn't be able to drive to work, because every selfish prick would be running all the lights and stop signs in your path. If you managed to get to work, the business would be bankrupted from employee theft. On your way home you'd be raped unless you're really fat and ugly in which case you'd have your donuts stolen. Once home you'd find you now have to share it with the previously homeless who now have a place to call their own.
So unless you have your own private army (and if you do someone will eventually stage a coup against you) you need the police. Other more primative societies get by with little LE involvement because of tribal or clan peer pressure. Americans have evolved beyond that. Instead we need a strong central governmental influence to keep us civil.
