Rotators sore as hell...

Inside week five now, and my rotator cuffs are sore as hell. I rested them over the holidays (3 days), and the soreness fades out by mid afternoon.

Should I be doing rotator cuff exercises while they are still sore? stretches or what?

True. BUT if they are sore and tender you may have pattern overload and it's time to let them rest, believe me you don't want one of your rotators sprain. Those are a bitch to heal.
 
well...the sorness is gone by the afternoon of day 3 so.....
 
Rest them a bit. Do some rehab work and get them up to par. If you are still having issues talk to a sports oriented orthopedist and maybe try some physical therapy. I have a nice set of bands that I bought from my last PT for $15 - quite reasonable - and I hook them right onto my rack.
