PLEASE Help me and My Unit.

Guys, experts, Doctors, fellow workouts addicts, please please, I need your help.

Forgive this being posted to the AS board, it is indirectly related to AS, but I fugured that guys on here woud probably know much more about thgis than most people anyway.

This post deals with certain problems I am having with erections and my sex drive, They both suck. If you have REAL knowledge about these things, please please, read and help if you can.

I AM POSTING UNDER AN ALIAS. I am a member of this board with a LOT of helpful posts to my credit. Due to the rather delicate nature of what I am revealing and discussing, I would rather keep my identity secret.

-------------------------------------------------

The Problem(s)

In a nutshell, my sex drive is MUCH lower than it was year ago, and my erections are NOWHERE near what they used to be, even when I get one.

Here are some details, I will try to be as quick as I can with data that may be pertinent.

I am in my late 30s.

Up until about 1 year ago, I was always able to get great erections, larger than average. I also have trained myself with the help of a few cool women I have spent time with, to be able to keep an erection a LONG time. I could hold off from ejaculating for a good hour+ at will (well, if I was not tired I could go this long, not every time, but I COULD do it, or choose to go on for 5, 10, 15 minutes or however as long as I wanted).

Now, sure, I know that in my late 30s, there is going to be SOME degradation in the ability to get REALLY hard. I know that. And to a slight extent, I have noticed this since I got into my 30s.

But in the last like year, this has taken a SERIOUS DOWNTURN.

My sex drive is WAY LOW. I mean, it’s there, but WAY lower than a year ago.

My ability to get an erection is WAY down. It is MUCH more difficult for me to get hard. Much. When I do, it’s NOWHERE near as hard as it used to be.

It’s much more difficult for me to STAY hard too, and even to have an orgasm. Yeah, I CAN have one, but many times, I just have sex for like 10 minutes, and even if I stay sorta hard, I don’t have an erection, it sorta gets soft on me.

This sucks.

History

Here is anything that I can think of that may have effected this. I will start several years ago and work up to today.

I have worked out 3+ days a week for at least the past 4 years. Very few breaks. (Prior to that, my workout schedule was erratic.)

For a good 2+ years I have done at least 1 protien shake a day, sometimes more.

About 19 months ago, I started 4 days a week. I train very very hard.

For the past 2 years almost, I have been on Creatine.

About 18 months ago, I was doing Ephedrine. I know that makes your erections a bit soft while on it. I would do maybe 1 x 20 mg Ephedrine tab a day. Then I stopped, it was a short while later that my problems started.

For the past 15 months, on Glutamine.

About 14 months ago, I did a round of pro-hormones. One spray-on thing and one snorted. I probably ran the snorted thing longer than I was supposed to.

About 12 months ago, I started to notice I was not getting as hard. No big deal, this happens to some degree to everyone for short times.

But I never seemed to recover.

About 10 months ago, 2 months after I noticed the problem, I had my Test levels checked (had been off pro-hormones for at least 3 months) and my Test level was in the mid 500's (I assume that is bound Test, normal range is 241-827).

Problems continued …

I started a Cycle of AS. Test, EQ, some winny.

While ON the cycle I STILL had the problems – although not as much (maybe). But STILL could not get very very hard at all.

Came off the cycle, did clomid, used liquidex, the whole deal.

Frankly the ability to get/keep erections, and their hardness, seemed to not vary all that much while ON, or while recovering from the cycle. Yeah - that right, even on 500 mg/week of Test, I was not getting raging hardons.

I ended the cycle maybe 5 months ago or so.

About 2-3 months ago I realized that maybe I have not been eating enough, so I increase my calories. But …

I still have the problems.

-------------------------------------------------

What have I tried? What CAN be tried?

Now, sure I know that I can use Viagra. And that helps. A bit.

Even when I talk to a Doc (although that has been a while) they say "well use Viagra" – hey – I WANT THIS FIXED!!!!!!! Viagra is a Band-Aid fix. It seems that something is WRONG.

Now sure, maybe if I did Viagra, Horny Goat Weed, Yohimbe, Zinc, Arginine, and kept using them all, things would change – but that sucks ass! Something feels like it is WRONG.

Maybe these things (above) can "fix" a "wrong" thing, instead of just being a temporary band-aid (like Viagra is) but still, What I am to do – jam a handful of pills in my face 1 hour before I MIGHT be having sex? Besides, that all seems like a band-aid approach.

I HAVE used Yohimbe. And L-Arginine, and I take Zinc. They help a BIT.

But come ON!

Guys, I know this is long, but please, if anyone can help, I would appreciate it.

Thanks Brothers.

There are testosterone tests that can tell you how much of it is free vs bound. I have done a test like this and it was a saliva test. The doc says this kind of saliva test is better than a blood test beause it will tell you how much free vs bound test you have.
He says alot of times doctors use standard blood tests to determine hormone levels and get very inaccurate readings and will prescribe, or will not prescribe, based on these inaccurate readings. Because for one reason or another different individials have different percentages of testosterone bound vs free and the only testosterone that counts is the testosterone that's free. One guy can have 90% of the testosterone in his system bound, and another guy 90% free. So for all you know 450 of your 500 testosterone reading could be bound which would mean your true reading could possibly be 50. It's important to check this and I recommend doing so. If you have most of it bound for some reason that's another issue and there are supposedly ways to change the percentages (to free up testosterone).
The only other possible cause to the problem I can think of is testosterone receptors in your penile tissue. However I don't think the quality or number of testosterone receptors in the penile tissue becomes alterred very much with age. If anyone knows differently on this please say so. I just haven't heard of receptors being the problem on a permanent basis. I would think testosterone levels would be the culprit.

A good friend of mine who is a non-AAS user had similar problems. I’m recalling this from memory, so the details may be a little sketchy.

He went to the doctor who then sent him to the urologist. The urologist discovered a blood vessel that was rubbing up against or was very close to one of his nuts. This was causing his nuts to overheat, and hence causing other nut related problems. To make a long story short—he had an operation to correct this problem and now all is well.

So my advice is this. Check with your doctor. If your doctor doesn’t know the answer, get a second opinion. If the second opinion doesn’t know the answer, get a third opinion.

Personally, I always look for a young Jewish doctor that graduated from a prestigious school. The younger guys are usually sharper, not set in their ways, and up to speed on the latest techniques, and the Jewish thing… well that’s just a personal preference. (Note: I’m Catholic, so it's not that.)

You can usually check their credentials on your health insurance providers’ web site, or just ask the question, “how old are you, and what school did you go to.” Nothing wrong with asking these types of questions, in my opinion.

My friend try proviron at 50mg a day if this fixs you up go down to 25mg a day. There is however that possibility that you have some vascular problems, this is not uncommon. But give the proviron a try.:D

Sounds vascular. I know this doesnt help much but from the guys I have talked to with similar problems it allways was a blood flow issue.

So, your horny as hell yet you cannot maintain a rigid erection? -vascular.

You are having problems with your libido and soft erections?- Sounds mental. Any life altering events lately? are you married? Do you have a steady gf? kids?

You might talk to your doc about HCG, (human chorionic gonadotropin). It will make your body produce more sperm and testosterone, usually used at the end of cycles to keep gains. But at the completion of cycles, many users experience the same symptoms you are right now, so it might work.
