I'm trying to ween myself off ephedrine and caffeine so that I can slow my metabolism and make better gains on my next cycle. I've switched to loud, angry music as my workout "stimulant". Does anyone have a favorite mix of workout songs/groups they listen to to help get them pumped? I'm going to get sick of my current mix pretty soon (building up a tolerance... ha ha)

Right now I've got a little bit of:
Our Lady Peace (Superman is Dead)
Marlyn Manson (Beautiful People, I don't like the drugs)
Rob Zombie (Dragula, Spookshow Baby)
Prodigy (Deisel, Firestarter)
Hole (Violet)
...and of course a whole bunch of Jewel songs! (kidding)

I had a custom CD made with the music I wanted. I also burnt a copy for a friend of mine for Christmas (I have access to a CD burner). I know that these are 'oldies' but I like the beat AND the words.

The music I have on this CD are;
Bill Conti - Gonna fly now ("Rocky Theme")
Survivor - Burning heart
Survivor - Eye of the tiger
Alice Cooper - No more Mr. Nice Guy
George Throrogood - Bad to the bone
ACDC - Dirty deeds done dirt cheap
ACDC - TNT
ACDC - Back in black
ACDC - Highway to Hell
Golden Earing - Radar love
Twisted Sister - We're not going to take it
ZZ Top - Got me under pressure
Bachman Turner Overdrive - You ain't seen nothing yet
Queen - Another one bites the dust
Pat Benatar - Hit me with your best shot
Heart - Barracuda
Queen - We will rock you
Duran Duran - Hungry like the wolf
Queen - We are the champions

Bros,
I originally posted this thread to the old Elite Fitness board.

Here is my all time top ten. I am a huge metal fan with a CD collection of several hundred. (Thanks Columbia house music club and their 12 cd's for the price of one) Unfortunately, some excellent CD's will not make this list.

10) Ozzman Cometh. Ozzy is a legend and IRON MAN was one of the toughest songs ever made.

9) Limp Bizkit-Both albums Faith, Nookie

8) Slayer - all of them but especially Devine Intervention and south of Heaven

7) Ministry - Psalm 69. NWO/JUST ONE FIX/PSALM 69

6) Godsmack. WHATEVER/KEEPAWAY

5) Rage Against The Machine - I love Rage but the first album stands alone. BOMB TRACK/KILLING IN THE NAME/FISTFULL OF STEEL and their best song ever KNOW YOUR ENEMY

4) Prodigy - Fat of the Land Smack my bitch up/firestarter/Diesle Power/Minefields = Excellent industrial beats

3) Metallica - Kill Em All - Master of Puppets I included both of these because they are Metallica's best SEEK&DESTROY/4 HORSEMAN/MASTER/SANITARIUM I also couldn't leave out FOR WHOM THE BELL TOLLS from Ride the Lightning - my favorite Metallica tune

2) Guns & Roses - Appetite for Destruction. This is the CD that all great metal bands should measure themselves by.
WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE/ITS SO EASY/NIGHTRAIN/SWEET CHILD O MINE/ and my favorite MR. BROWNSTONE

And my #1 psych up CD is....

1) A deadheat between Pantera's- Vulgar Display of Power and Pantera's Far Beyond Driven. These are by far the two best CD's for intensity that you will find!!!! Just listen to their titles for gods sake!!
STRENGTH BEYOND STRENGTH/BECOMING/5 MINUTES ALONE/BROKEN/SLAUGHTERED/MOUTH OF WAR/NEW LEVEL/FUCKING HOSTILE and the all time best lifting song... WALK
Even if you do not like metal give these 2 CD's a try. Every single track is hardcore. If you don't have a better lift, come back on this board and call me a liar.

honorable mentions- Powerman 5000, Manson, Tool, Zombie, Korn, and Static X

I like Smashmouth's "Whiney Neighbor" and "X" and the fucked up mob song on that same album,
Garbage 2.0 (the whole album), Tom Waits "In the Coloseum" and a hand full of songs from Squeez' "45's and under".

I'd listen to Dino Strong's suggestions. I lift to different tapes, with all of those artists and songs on them, and that's a lifting's greatest hits collection. Be careful though because some of those songs might make you run through a wall, but you'll get huge! Since I started lifting to music last year, my bench went up 30lbs, and squat was up 55!
#1 lifting tape start song-Welcome to the jungle!

Over the years, I've accumulated enough stuff to have a gym in my basement....so I pieced together a $3000 stereo system for $600 on ebay to go with it...wanna talk about loud !!!

One of my favorites is the "Garage Inc." performed by Metallica....

"its electric"
"die,die,die my darling"
"mercyful fate"
and you've gotta hear "so what"
Make sure you get the "explicit version", and buy it from ebay, you'll get it much, much cheaper !!

Oh...love my Iron Maiden !!!

Classic Van halen, Ozzy, Metalica, ACDC work for me. They play disco at the gym I work at. You hear the same songs over and over. The only thing is its not easy to do things like squats with headphones.
