Everyone,
Be very careful about the quality of the whey protein that you are buying. I have been researching the
market again and have found a few interesting things--believe me I know what I'm talking about.
The industry pricing for instantized (easily mixed in liquid) whey protein isolate (ionic exchange
quality) is $5.00-$8.00 per pound. This is the pricing from the actual dairy manufacturers. Think about
it--some of the so called ionic exchange whey out there is selling to the public for $5.00-$8.00 per pound.
At the retail level, real ion exchange will sell for at least $15.00 per pound. This is due to the extra cost
of labeling, packaging, middlemen, etc. What most people are buying is nothing more than WPC--Whey Protein Concentrate.
This is probably about 70-88% protein, can be instantized, and tastes the same as the higher quality material.
The pricing for this however is much, much cheaper. All this talk about peptides is hogwash because real, pure,
whey peptides is extremely expensive and sort of bitter. One super large-scale dairy manufacturer just came out
with this and its super expensive--used mainly in the pharmaceutical industry. Most either don't have any peptides
or are putting a small amount of hydrolized material in their formula (hydrolized product is also pretty expensive).
Believe me, this Designer Protein that's out is not really as high of quality that you think. Really, does it matter?
I doubt it--you'll never see the difference on your body anyway. But if I were you, I wouldn't want to spend my money
on a quality that is lower than supposed to be. Solution--I don't know because these companies don't manufacturer
their whey, but buy it from one of the dairy manufacturers and they'll never tell you which one they bought it from.
If I were you I would buy a cheap product that tasted and mixed well--and remember to inspect the sodium content--it
should be fairly low.
Keep up the fight
Unique
