By crank, I assume you mean amphetamines.
The Food and Drug Act of Canada in Part III sec.39 sub(1) states:
No person shall traffic in a controlled drug or any substance represented or held out by the person to be a controlled drug.
sub (2) No person shall have in possession any controlled drug for the purposes of trafficking.
(3) Every person who contravenes sub (1) or (2) is guilty of an offence and liable on conviction on indictment, to imprisonment for a term not exceeding ten years.
It also lists schedule G as being controlled substances, and the first drug on the list is Amphetamine and its salts.
BTW steroids are also listed under schedule G as of 1992 I believe.
