Ginseng and cortisol

If you do not know, while you take an anabolic your natural cotisol level increases to balance the ratio form the added water weight and cholesterol. Once the cycle ends you are left with a high cortisol level and no anabolics to antagonise it. Cortisol will then attack and eat muscle, store fat, and store water. Obviously the first fact is what you are trying to avoid. I know clen and ephedrine reduce cortisol levels but since I have no overseas connection (even though I have tried like hell) I can not obtain clen so I am only left with one item.
So I started researching to find another. So I started with my nutrition manual and came upon an interesting sentence. I was interested biologically how ginseng worked. It stated that it spared glucose stored in the liver by breaking down stored fat for energy. It then stated that ginseng will reduce the amount of cortisol in the blood. Has anyone heard this? Or tried it? Is there another item that reduces cortisol?
thanks.
