The advantages of a foreign source is that they don't have to break any laws to supply you, therefore they are far less likely to be a sting.
Also your name and address wont be on any lists that the US authorities might get their hands on during a raid.
On the other hand if you order in the US you don't have to worry about Customs, but you have a higher risk of being sold fake products.
Prices are generally much lower from the foreign sources.
Really there is no clear cut answer, who you buy from is more important than where they are from.
