: Agreed. Various sources will say that your body can only metabolize so many grams of protein per day, and anything over that is useless, but my theory is don't skimp. Give your body everything it could possibly need to do the job you're asking it to do. Load up on the protein. Muscles are protein, and can't build without it. As far as that reload in your gym goes, I suppose that the average sedentary person that was used in the study he read probably can't use that much protein. I would draw the correlation between your body and an automobile. The FDA standards are kind of like the fuel economy standards. Just like a racecar will use significantly more fuel than your average Honda Civic, your body is going to use significantly more nutrients and calories than your typical office jockey.
