I bet everybody got gas when they first started taking metformin and your stomach fet like it was going to blow?!! That's because the inhibition of the glucose uptake in the small intestine causes the sugar to be dumped into the large intestine where the bacteria take over and create gas! That's the mechanism of inhibition. The mech of insulin sensitivy works regardless of what time you take the metformin with food. The inhibition work WHEN you take the metformin. I thought it was great and I got leaner than ever, but I NEVER took met with my post workout carb/prot drink! Anarchy in the USA!
